The engineering personnel at SSE have an extensive history of successful projects in various parts of the world. In general the following outline describes the services available :For a new project: Provide guidance to local management or engineers associated with a potential project to gather the critical variable data necessary to perform a feasibility desgn or if necessary actually gather the data from whatever sources are available.. This data will normally be weather information such as rainfall, evaporation as measured with a US Department of Commerce Class A Evaporation Pan or equal and soil conditions--ie seepage characteristics, wave washing tendency if used for levee material and cursory survey information.. Once this information is in hand, run a series of computer models to determine the best and worst case operating characteristics. From those model cases , make a recommendation on the viability of the project and whether it should be abandoned or move forward. If the decision is to move forward, provide a general plan of the work necessary to tie down any variables that are not considered reliable enough to insure success and to gather all the other information necessary to design and implement the project. Make estimates to perform this work and to make the actual design and carry the project to completion. Obtain financial approval to proceed. Conduct the actual design of the facility, with firm quotes for all those components possible and with estimates where firm figures are not possible. If the project is finacially approved, manage the construction, purchasing, equipment installation, startup and employee training. For existing plant improvements or problem solving. The same statistical data gathering is also necessary for this case as well as the operating history of the facility. SSE would review the infomation and request any other that might be necessary and do the engineering study and calculations to determine the path to be followed to maximize production and reduce operating costs. Prepare operating plans and operator training instructions to insure proper that water handling, harvesting, washing, refining and other operations are performed to minimize costs and maximize production while maintaining high quality standards. For all cases act as a contract engineering department for the customer when so requested. Advise the client as appropiate of any defiencies discovered in the normal course of the work and suggest any improvements that are indicated.. Seek outside assistance or refer the client to others with better expertize in special areas of design or problem solving when appropiate; always with the maximum benefit at least cost to the client as the objective. |
